Week 8 marks the final week of the first half. Last week
the American League took the edge over the National League
4-1 in matchups with Tormenta the only team in the National
League to pull off a victory. That victory propelled them
into first place as Lightning suffered a second straight
disappointing defeat. Before the start of outer-divisional
matchups began in Week 6 Lightning was in command of the
division lead. Now after two straight losses they face a
tough matchup against a 328's team that has been very steady
the past four weeks, scoring over 100 points in all of them.
Lightning is averaging just 68 points per game the past
two weeks (compared to 115 ppg in Weeks 1-5). In other Week
8 matchups, A II P goes for a fifth consecutive victory
as they face an H team that at 1-6 is nearing must-win territory.
A II P has not lost to a National League opponent since
Week 10 of 2011 (the opponent was H); The Tomcats are seeking
their first October winning streak since Week 8 2010 as
they face a Tormenta team that has not lost in October since
that same week (8, 2010); The 69ers have scored over 100
pts in four of the last five weeks, but only have two wins
to show for it. Next they face a Lake Show team that has
lost four of the last five weeks; United enters the week
off it's best two-week stretch of the season against an
O's team entering off it's worst two-week stretch (after
it's own best two-week stretch in Weeks 4 and 5).
