Dying Fragments

The flames engulf themselves
The fire burns from below
Stealing our last fragments of light
The remaining shards fly out, reaching the grass
A copied image shines in the grass' face
The pieces slowly float towards the ocean
Suffocating, dying in the dark
The velvet
With tiny holes
The fingers on the grass release their grasp
They become limp and fade
Meeting their end
Being consumed by the blaze
With one final look the warmth drips down
The arms reach up one last time
Dragged down and held captive by the heat
Slowly die
Wail in pain
The stars outdone by the moon
Who slowly sinks
Pulling its blanket
As the flames return the bits and pieces
They pull down the stars and throw them to the moon
The dead fragments alive once more
