Executive Director Joanne
Leva is the recipient of the Philadelphia
Writers Conference Community Service Award,
for her dedication and tireless work on the Philly
literary scene, helping other poets and writers,
and for her creation and devotion to the Montgomery
County Poet Laureate Program.
This is not an annual award -- the last time the
PWC Board felt compelled to honor someone was back
in 1996... and there have been many who have volunteered
on our lit scene in Philly in the meantime-- which
gives you the idea of how very special Joanne is,
and how much she has contributed to all of us, and
how much her hard work is appreciated.
The Philadelphia Writers Conference will honor her
(and she will receive the award) at at the 2011
Philadelphia Writers Conference Banquet, Sat. June
4th, 2011.
