Graduate Student Nicole
Adams (Nikki) will fulfill her graduate internship
requirement by completing the tasks outlined below.
PoetryWITS
Nikki launched a facebook site dedicated to this
program. She will include photos of contest winners
with their consent. She will also include the parameters
for submitting online, a link to the official PoetryWITS
website, and information on up-coming contests,
rules, and perhaps a feature on past winners.
Que
Vive!
Nikki will reach out to the program director to
develop a relationship between Que Vive! and PoetryWITS.
She will inquire about any interest in publishing
past/future winners on MCPL's website in order to
gain more awareness of both programs within the
community.
Visiting
Poets
Nikki is very interested in the Visiting Poets program,
not only to learn from the experience, but to develop
a review of their visit for a blog section of her
page on the MCPL website. She thinks it would be
interesting to not only do a review for those who
may be interested in the program, but also to interview
participants in the Visiting Poet program.
Public
Relations
Nikki has spoken with an associate of hers and a
writer for the Lansdale Patch.com, about featuring
information about contests, workshops, and programs
that the MCPL program sponsors. He is interested
in featuring us on the website and has referred
me to his editor, who is currently on vacation,
but to whom she will be reaching out to this week
as well as other local papers. In addition, Nikki
would like to contact the English/ Communications
departments in Montgomery County schools about distributing/posting
flyers/ or distributing emails to the students of
these programs to make them aware of up-coming events,
workshops and contests.
