The Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson Award in Poetry

The Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson Award in Formal Poetry will be a yearly award of $250 to a High School School Student (grades 9-12) from Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, or Philadelphia counties who has submitted the best example of a poem written in any form. The award will be given at the annual Montgomery County Poet Laureate (MCPL) Awards Ceremony at Musehouse: A Center for the Literary Arts in April 2012 (date and time tbd).

The award will be presented by The Friends of Graeme Park, which is the historic home of Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson. Student award recipients and participants in the Poetry Awards event will enjoy a year's membership for non-reserved Graeme Park programs. Graeme Park is one of the foremost examples of Georgian interior decoration in the United States of America, and offers an excellent opportunity to think across the disciplines of poetry and architecture, and to relate the visual to the verbal aspects of Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson's -and our own-aesthetics.
