Bilingual and holding an MFA in Writing from Vermont
College (1999), Aaren Perry operates Education Action
Resources which produces classroom resources, a visiting
authors bureau, educational exhibits, and multimedia
productions. Aaren is a Philadelphia-based writer
who teaches poetry and writing at schools and colleges
in the U.S. and Canada. He is the recipient of a 1990
Writing Fellowship from the Pennsylvania Council on
the Arts, and is Poet-in-Residence at a number of
educational institutions including Whale Camp in New
Brunswick, Canada. He has published in Xconnect Magazine,
Blue Guitar, Painted Bride Quarterly, Long Shot Review,
Critique Magazine, Mad Poets Review, Tyme Anthology
and other magazines. He produces and directs PAGE2STAGE,
a weekly educational cable television show on poetry.
His work has appeared on NPR and on regional television
broadcasts. Aaren's book, POETRY ACROSS THE CURRICULUM:
An Action Guide for Elementary Teachers (Allyn &
Bacon, 1997); his spoken word CD, MERCURY CALLING
(MelodyVision, 2000); and his forthcoming COLLECT
FOR THE STAR (Whirlwind, 2003) are available at bookstores.
