Poet
and librettist Nathalie Anderson teaches in the Department
of English Literature at Swarthmore College, where
she directs the Program in Creative Writing. Her poems
have appeared in such magazines as APR's Philly Edition,
Cross Connect, Southern Poetry Review, Louisville
Review, New Millennium Writings, Double Take, and
Paris Review, and have been awarded prizes from The
Madison Review, Nimrod, the Cumberland Poetry Review,
Inkwell Magazine, and the Joseph Campbell Society.
Her volume *Following Fred Astaire* won the Washington
Prize for 1998 from The Word Works; a second volume,
*Crawlers*, is currently under consideration by publishers.
Nathalie Anderson has authored two operas -- *The
Black Swan* and *Sukey in the Dark* -- in collaboration
with composer Thomas Whitman. Nathalie Anderson was
a fellow at Yaddo in 1986, and in 1993 she was awarded
a Pew Fellowship in the Arts. |
