The Montgomery County Poet Laureate Program (MCPL) is a program of the Indian Valley Arts Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the arts by offering many opportunities and programs for members of the community. Each year, the MCPL conducts the Montgomery County Poet Laureate Competition for all Montgomery County residents, eighteen (18) years of age and older. The competition is designed to recognize and promote excellence in poetry, in keeping with MCPL's mission to benefit the county by building a long-term infrastructure for literary advancements in our schools, our community and our homes. We are seeking support for the competition from our friends in the literary community.
