Doris
Ferleger will read her original poetry. Ms. Ferleger
is a native of Philadelphia, has taught English
in high school and has a Master of Fine Arts (MFA).
She recalls her own high school English teacher
encouraging her to write.
The Open Mic for poetry is open to all BASH students
in 10th, 11th and 12th grades, faculty and staff.
Family and friends are cordially invited.
Song
lyrics are also poetry set to music. Students who
write original acoustic songs can perform at the Open
Mic as well. The BASH-TV crew under the direction
of Mr. Bill Cherkasky will film the Open Mic.
Students,
have you got something to say? Say it in poetry. Say
it at Open Mic. Say it on Tuesday April 28th, from
6 to 8 pm in the BASH library. Youll have a
stage, you'll have an open mic. You'll have an audience
of your friends and fellow students. No stress, no
competition, just speak your mind in poetry or original
acoustic.
If
you write your own, you can read it. If you have a
favorite poem, you can read that as well. If you write
original acoustic, you could play your song. Anyone
in 10th, 11th or 12th grade at BASH can participate.
Talk it over with your friends. Sign Up. Stand Up.
Speak Up. Celebrate your creativity.
