A
II P began the 2011 season as the defending Prestige
Champions drafting wr Julio Jones with the first overall
selection in the August draft. They concluded the
2011 with a 23 point performance from that draft selection
to lead the team to a second consecutive Prestige
Championship and a league record sixth title overall.
A II P extended its 100+ points streak to ten straight
weeks as they defeated Tormenta 142-101. Jones had
only one start all season, but in he scored 41 points
in two postseason starts to earn Postseason MVP honors.
TE Rob Gronkowski capped off his outstanding season
with a 29 point performance to win the Prestige Championship
MVP. QB Tony Romo (who did not start all season) scored
39 points on Sunday Night to put A II P over 130 points
for the third consecutive week and also set a new
record for most points scored in a Prestige Finals
game. A II P is the fifth Best Regular Season Team
to win the Prestige title as they finish the year
14-2 overall, the second most wins for a complete
year in league history (only surpassed by A II P in
1998). Tormenta had a terrific season ending 13-3
overall (two of the losses coming against A II P).
A II P is the third team to repeat as Prestige Champions
(matching the 2000-2001 O's and 2004-2005 A II P).
