69ers 328's A II P H Lake Show Lightning O's Tomcats Tormenta United

Will the 2010 Prestige Champion be a first-time winner? If so, it would be just the second time we've seen a new champion in three consecutive seasons (the previous time being the first three years of the league's existence). Recently history has been in favor of new champions, as three of the past four winners are first-timers (including the last two season with Tormenta and Lightning). Prior to United's win in 2006 there was only one new winner from the previous six years (the 69ers in 2003). The United franchise had won previously in 1996, but 2006 marked a first-time under current ownership. There remains only three franchises and four current owners without a Prestige Championship (328's is the lone team with a Prestige title under previous ownership). Lake Show and 328's have played in three of the last five Prestige Championship games but they remain without a title. H has a total of nine Prestige Playoff seasons (most among franchises without a Prestige Championship) and three National League titles, yet they have only reached the finals once (back in 1996). The Tomcats are the only current ownership to have never played in a Prestige Finals, but they do have eight Prestige Playoff appearances (including four of the last seven years). So will one of them win the title this year? The three recent first-time winners (Tormenta, Lightning and United) entered their Championship seasons with at least a combined 10 wins and one Prestige Playoff appearance from the previous two years. That trend would only favor Lake Show and 328's as H and Tomcats have won less then 10 games over the last two years (failing to reach the playoffs in either season).
