69ers 328's A II P H Lake Show Lightning O's Tomcats Tormenta United

"The untold want by life and land ne'er granted, Now voyager sail thou forth to seek and find." The 15th Season has officially arrived as kickoff takes place Thursday Night September 10th. All ten teams enter the weekend even as the journey toward the ultimate goal of a Prestige Championship season begins this week. Every team has the same goal and the quest for that goal starts now. In the Game of the Week, Lightning will begin their reign as defending Prestige Champions against 4-time Prestige Champion A II P a team that took an opposite path of Lightning last year as they lost 8 of the last 9 week after starting the year 6-0, while Lightning won 8-2 over the final 10 games to win the title; In other Week 1 matchups, Tormenta will look to gain an early edge in the division against 3-time defending National League Champions O's; The 69ers and H try to add another memorable meeting to their history; Lake Show tries to recapture their 2008 late season magic against defending American League champion 328's; and the Tomcats look to put an end to their current 10-game losing streak.

The 2009 season will get underway this week with the start of the Preseason. The Preseason will run for four weeks starting with the traditional Hall of Fame game between A II P and H this week in Philadelphia, and ending with the Mexican Seafood Classic between 69ers and United in Albuquerque. Preseason is usually a springboard for the season in that it gives teams opportunities to gauge their rosters, most notably rookies and draft picks, as well as players in different situations. History has shown that successful Preseason results do not automatically ensure team success in the Regular Season. However players that have had successful in the Preseason, usually go on to have a good season, or in the case of rookies and backups - successful futures. With the Preseason, the entire roster counts towards a team scoring each week, so it will be easy to track the development and production every week. Preseason highlights from Tormenta qb Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers lead the Preseason in scoring and won the 2009 Preseason MVP honors.
