The
Third time in the Prestige Finals proves to be a charm
for Lightning as they pulled off a 87-79 victory over
328's to win the franchises first ever Prestige Championship.
It was not the prettiest win but the Championship tends
to go that way and Lightning clearly established themselves
as the Champions of the league throughout December,
as they finished the month 4-0 (averaging 119 pts over
that span). Lightning gained an early lead on Sunday
as Marques Colston and Tony Gonzalez continued their
excellent postseason with 17 and 16 points. Holding
a 17 point lead entering Sunday Night, Philip Rivers
scored 27 points to hold off 328's qb Jay Cutler's 39
point performance. After a 2-5 start to the first half,
Lightning went 8-2 over the second half and through
the postseason, scoring over 100 points in all 8 wins
over that span, including 4 over 120 points. Lightning
becomes the sixth franchise to win the Prestige title.
